About the family
Oscar works as a brick maker. He works in his village from Monday to Saturday, earning a salary of Q100 per day. Alicia, his wife, also works by washing her neighbor's clothes and earning Q125 per week. The couple has been together for five years, and they live on land inherited by Oscar's parents. Their home is a single room made of corrugated metal sheets with a dirt floor, which is in poor condition. The house has leaks, and it gets cold at night. Although they have access to electricity, running water, and sewage services, they have a proper kitchen that is next to the room where they live. Given their inadequate living conditions and lack of resources to build a proper home, they more than meet the criteria for housing assistance.
