When you participate in the Builder’s Guild, you are not just making a general donation to Home For A Home. Your donation is put to use immediately and allocated directly to the projects we’re starting that quarter to help specific families. You’ll learn all about them and their community and be able to track construction progress through regular updates. We want your involvement to be a personal as the work we are so privileged to do.
Builders Guild Q1 2023 Project
Location: Guatemala
You will be building in the Central region of Guatemala, in either the Chimaltenango or Sacatepequez departments. Kakchiquel Maya make up the majority of the population in this region. They are agriculturists, and their culture is a fusion of Spanish and Mayan elements. Why Guatemala? Learn more here.
Scope: Homes for 2 families
The homes will include:
A main living room
A water filtration system
A high efficiency, wood burning stove
A bunkbed
Goal: $7,000
With your donation you will receive information about the specific families we’re helping that quarter, progress updates along the way, a report with photographs of the finished homes, as well as invitations to exclusive Home For A Home events.
Our Builders Guild Premier Project
Location: Guatemala

Security
Four solid walls provide protection from sun, wind, and rain and a locking door allows a family to leave their home unguarded. Parents are able to go to work and children can attend school—some for the very first time.
Hope
A new home, complete with clean water and a wood burning stove, is a powerful catalyst for dramatic change in a family’s life. It helps to improve their health, elevates their status in the community, and ensures a better future.
Community
These homes give families not only a sense of belonging and pride but also the stability and resources they need to change their lives. The construction also provides invaluable employment opportunities for local masons.
