The 15th of September is the day when all of Central America celebrates getting its independence from Spain. At first as a federation that got dissolved with time to create the countries that we know now.
Celebrations usually include parades and concerts all over the country.

This is the date when Guatemalan’s celebrate the revolution that kicked out the last dictator that has sat as head of the government in the country. After this revolution democracy got installed and is still going strong until now.

All Saints day in Guatemala is a time to remember the loved ones who have passed already. During this day we eat a unique dish called fiambre, visit cemeteries and fly kites that are three stories hight or more. Kites are supposed to be tools to send messages to our loved ones in heaven.

The flower fetival happens every november in Antigua guatemala. During this weekend long festival all homes, restaurants hotels and businesses decorate the outside wall with all sorts of gorgeous, creative and colorful flower arrangements.
